While riding the whole length of the Longleaf Trace, my riding partner and I ended up in Bassfield about lunch time. I walked into the Texaco to purchase some drinks and there in front of me is a lunch counter. Hmm, looks a bit dubious. Food looks good, smells great. We decide to give it a go. We made our selections and made our way to a booth. With just one bite, I knew we had found a winner. Every bit of food was well cooked and seasoned. I had to make a pig out of myself to finish the full plate. So, if your biking the trail or just happen to find yourself near, do drop in and enjoy some fine southern home style vittles.
